This one seems so obvious it is probably another setup game.

Can anyone tell me why in the world Pitt is only favored by 10 points? Toledo has not looked that good both times I have seen them on tv. Their win over Marshall was deceiving as Marshall gave that game away with 3 key turnovers. Todedo's pass defense looked really shaky against both UNLV and Marshall. Pitt, on the other hand, looks like a legit top 10 team and Rutherford should be a darkhorse Heisman candidate. The Pitt receivers should have an absolute field day against Toledo's backfield. Pitts star receivers, Fitzgerald and Brokenborough are bigger, taller and faster than any of Toledo's dbs, heck, they are bigger than Toledo's lbs. Pitt will need to keep blowing out weaker teams to stay in the BCS hunt. Also, PITT IS NOW 21-0 SU AGAINST MAC TEAMS.
Anybody liking Toledo? An can you tell me why?

I know this one looks too easy. I am sure the line will be moving up on this one. The only thing I can think of is Pitt is on the road. Figure Pitt should win by 3 TD's

SU doesn't cash the ticket.

Toledo's qb Gradkowski is from Pittsburgh and could be pissed for Pitt not recruiting him. Rutherford is athletic, but has the brain the size of a pea. That's worth 7 points. Plus, I think Gradkowski is just as athletic and a whole lot smarter.

ok, thanks, any info supporting Toledo is useful.

I agree that SU doesn't mean a cover (ie Pitt didn't cover last week against Ball) but in this case, the spread is so small a win "should" equal a cover.

Please continue to make a case for Toledo as I want to get inside the linemaker's head. Obviously, the bm knows he is going to take 90% Pitt action and he is dropping the line anyway.

I have heard that Pitt has a lot of injuries, esp. to their O-line. Three starters out and possibly some of their secondary people might be hurt. Tread lightly my man.

No respose? I see "gridman" has all of 5 posts. Probably a local BM scarred shitless of getting one-sided.

Hey Mr. Pete, I don't appreciate your comments "all of 5 posts". Gotta start somewhere just like you did. Besides, I only recently joined this forum. Doesn't mean that I don't know my stuff and sources. Let's just say that reliable sources have said that Pitt's center is/will be manned by a redshirt freshman, and their tackle and guard are out. You don't have to believe me - all I'm doing is sharing some info. And I'm no F-----g BM. If you want to bet Pitt so be it. It's your $$$. By the way how are you doing this new season? Bet you're down a bunch!

welcome to the forum, gridman. sorry if I offended you.

fyi the folks around here don't react too well to new posters citing "anonymous reliable sources" and to blindly "trust them." We are all here to share knowledge, not bullsh*t. Like everyone else reading this thead, I am here to make decisions using credible, documented information, not unsubstantiated rumor or innuendo. I would very much like to make such a decision using whatever credible information you can share with us. If you can't cite a source, nobody will believe you are credible. It is that simple.

Mr. Pete: Not offended at all - was only pointg out comments that I thought was unnecessary. Anyways, your topic called for info on the game and that's why I decided to share it. My source is a friend who lives in the midwest and is a pretty good amateur handicapper. Like all info he relays to me, I have learned to sift through it myself. The final decision is always made by me. I would assume this would also apply to you. You have the final say. Now for another tidbit - you might consider UCONN, as word is that Buffalo is in turmoil bigtime. Lots of dissension and the team knows the coach is gonna be history. Looks like a blowout. Again, take it with a grain of salt. It's your decision. By the way, trust me, as you will see in my future posts that I DON'T BS! I tell it like it is. Afterall, isn't the sharing of information the purpose of this forum? JMHOs

Toledo feels they can win, thats usually where it starts. They feel Heflin can cover Fitzgerald, that is the key to the Pitt offense. Toledo feels the spread offense they can run will give Pitt trouble (I recall USF, not a powerhouse school for sure) beating Pitt by spreading the field and using lots of dump plays, look for that here. Not bettng this game, just giving some opinions on why it won't be a Pitt blowout. Having said this, it will now be a 38-10 Pitt win, LOL...
